Yes. I totally think being a girl is degrading. That’s why, when I try to invoke confidence into the girls I care about, I’m setting them up for disappointment. When I walk through a blizzard to give my crying friend a hug, I’m doing it so I can laugh at her later. When I offer my friend my jacket when she’s shivering, I do it so I can make her look like an idiot.
How about, before you take a concept originally invoked to make women feel more equal to men and destroy it, you think about what you’re saying first. I don’t wear dresses, skirts, or heels for two reasons:
1. I personally don’t like the way they would look on me.
2. I prefer to wear cargo pants, running shoes/work boots, nice button-up
shirts, a silver chain, class ring, watch, and a fedora.
We, in the free world, have a certain freedom of expression, which includes wardrobe. This allows us to dress the way we want to, BECAUSE WE WANT TO.
